Welcome to Feature Friday. Today, meet Botanicals by the Sea.
Botanicals by the Sea has been a transformative experience for owner Sherry Molling, taking her from nearly losing her house to being able to support herself and her son. In business for three years, San Diego-based Botanicals by the Sea carries a full line of skincare and bath and body products, including face and eye creams, soaps, serums, bath bombs, soy and massage candles, and slathering oils.
“Having skincare issues,” says Sherry, “I sought an alternative to chemicals.” Her research and experimentation led to serums and balms and, eventually, “pampering creams and soaps to round it off.” If you are new to the line, you must try the Restore Serum, which blends rosehip, sea buckthorn, emu and argan oils. One of Sherri’s favorite products to make is the store’s heavy cream. “I love how as it mixes it becomes something so different from just the ingredients.”
Explaining her process and methodology, Sherry says, “I keep my products as natural as possible, use great ingredients, test on girlfriends not animals, and my passion goes into every container!” Sounds like a great reason to try Botanicals by the Sea to us! Check out the goods in person at the San Diego-based shop. You’ll also find them at Thursday night and Sunday morning markets (full details here).
If you’re further afield, check out the full product line at the Botanicals by the Sea website and follow the twitter feed for shop updates. Keep an eye on the Botanicals by the Sea Facebook page for regular show and soap updates and to find out why you may have recently seen a soapmaker floating through the air.
About the Guild, Sherry says she loves the annual conferences. “I was thrilled to have gone and signed up to the new one the second I came home.Tell everyone in this industry to join and attend next years. I loved it.” Thank you, Sherry, we’re blushing!
Thanks, Sherry, for being a member and sharing a glimpse of Botanicals by the Sea with us!
