A serendipitous act of combining fresh goat milk supply with classic cold process soapmaking led to the birth of New Jersey-based Secret Garden Soap of Madison. Owner Tracee Palmer explains, “I started my suburban farm with a few chickens, then moved into beekeeping and finally to complete my little urban homestead I got three beautiful LaMancha goats. My children were not real keen on the idea of drinking goat milk, so I needed a use for this beautiful fresh raw milk.” Soapmaking using the milk “turned out so lovely”.

It is truly the goat milk that sets Secret Garden Soap of Madison apart. “LaManchas”, says Tracee, “are known for the high butterfat content in their milk, [which] makes a very rich and creamy soap.” You’ll find more than just goat milk soap on the site. Secret Garden Soap of Madison carries lotion, bath fizzee eggs, sea salt milk bath, and spa bars to soothe the savage soul, but don’t forget custom orders. Secret Garden Soap of Madison recently delivered wedding soaps in a gorgeous leaf on rippling water design. “I love using my new silicone molds in Hydrangea, Hearts and Rippling Water,” says Tracee.
