In 1908, Lebermuth Company was founded by a farmer named Morris Brown and his family. They traded in farm produce until they discovered the value of essential oils when someone used peppermint oil to barter for produce. The company began as M. Brown and Sons and while headed by Morris Brown’s direct descendant, Irvin Brown, merged with Lebermuth Company in 1974.
